san loo?
i don't know what san loo means but i love the weird oriental typography running vertically as well as the background texture. cool package. they don't make em like they used to.
tell it like it is
sometimes you just have to tell the consumer what it is. no pithy name for me. found at a garage sale, this bold old game jumped out at me. photos of the wooden letter to come.
chickens need to be regular
Laxative for Poultry. i can't believe someone had this idea before me! anyway, cool old can, found at an antique mall. great color and use of type. i guess DB stands for "bird dukey"?

creepy straws
check out the old box of straws i found the other day. not only is it weird with the john wayne gacy type clown but check out the adjectives on the box: super, jumbo, new, and supra. those guys knew how to hook you if the clown didn't.

Ritas
Ritas is a new restaurant opening up on Folly Beach real soon. Gibson Thompson Guest Architects created the space and we did the identity. we wanted a throwback to the old beachside grill days, except i don't know if they had margaritas back then.

cool clock
this clock was hanging near the 8 color Heidelbergs at Oddi Printing in Reykjavik. my life would be fine if i had this cool car clock.
Micro Flash
i found this on ebay looking for interesting objects to turn into something else. this package was nice. cool colors and the masking of the flash with the white is groovy.

i found these two packages recently at Pages Theives market. the ice cream package is great. great colors, type, excellent. it is funny that i found the "birthday" cig carton the same day. "say happy birthday with a carton of non filter cigs". nothin much more to say.

solar swamp house
went up to my friend Eddies solar swamp house this weekend. amazing place. simple, powered totally by solar. no tv, no cell service, no fridge. just coolers, gas, music and some lights. paddling through swamp creeks was just what a tired soul needed. eddie had some cool old equipment out there too like his old Massey Fergerson tractor. thanks bro.

Aldwyth work v./work n.
my trip to iceland a couple of weeks ago was an effort to view the printing of a hardbound book about Aldwyth and her amazing Work. Work being her art. Huge collages(assemblages),
sculptures and boxes. Really stuff that will alter your vision. Mark Sloan, director of the Halsey Institute for Contemporary Art, is curating the show and accompanied me to Oddi Printing in Reykjavik, Iceland. We had a great time and were extremely pleased to learn that our icelandic friends are true citizens of the world.
Jeff Norwood - Awendaw
Recently i had the pleasure of working with master bluesman, Jeff Norwood, on his most recent CD release, Awendaw. the recording was done at Awendaw Green (www.awendawgreen.com) and he was so moved by the hospitality and remoteness of the place he named his album after it. i did the illustrations and design to feel like the woods up the raod a piece in Awendaw. Go get it today.
The Whisperjets
yes, folks, The Whisperjets debut EP has finally arrived so go out and pursue this young band that hails from right here in Mount P. We designed this ep for them, with the concept based on a midnight bank robbery. go to www.awendawgreen.com if you want to purchase one. support local music!
